RP Funding Center Renovations
In partnership with Gilbane Building Company, Miller Construction Management (legacy) oversaw extensive renovations at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Florida. This multi-phase project modernized several sections, including Jenkins Arena, Sikes Hall, and Youkey Theater, while keeping the facility fully operational. The project delivered ADA upgrades, technology enhancements, and aesthetic improvements across the complex’s 101,300-square-foot area.
Continuous Operations
The challenge was to complete comprehensive renovations in multiple phases while the RP Funding Center remained fully open and accessible to the public. Working in this active environment required close coordination to ensure safety and minimize disruption.
Phased Approach Execution
The project was divided into two main phases to maintain operational efficiency. Phase I included enhancements to the Lakeland Magic G-League locker rooms, arena audio/visual upgrades, and a new broadcast system. Phase II added fire protection, arena concourse improvements, flexible convention space, and upgraded finishes throughout the facility.
Enhanced Facilities
The project successfully modernized the RP Funding Center, increasing its functionality and aesthetic appeal. The renovated spaces now provide better accessibility, upgraded A/V technology, and enhanced visitor comfort while respecting the center’s legacy as a hub for community and recreational events.
