The Bob Martinez Athletics Center, originally opened in 1984, is the home for the University of Tampa Spartans' men's and women's basketball teams, as well as the volleyball team. The renovation project involved interior improvements, including updates to the entryway, new bleachers, and installation of new court flooring. Additional work was added mid-project, encompassing demolition, new concrete, drywall, and floor leveling.

The project started as a straightforward interior renovation but expanded mid-way when the University added more scope, including demolition, new concrete, drywall, flooring, and floor leveling. Adjusting the timeline and resources to accommodate these new requests posed a challenge to the project team.

Miller Construction Management, in collaboration with Gensler Architects, adapted to the evolving needs of the project by managing the additional scope with efficient coordination and resource allocation. The expanded work was successfully integrated, with improvements such as new drywall, paint, floor leveling, and new court flooring.

The renovation of the Bob Martinez Athletics Center was completed on time and within budget. The project resulted in a refreshed and functional athletic space for the University of Tampa's sports teams and spectators. The facility now includes updated bleachers, a fully renovated gym floor, and a modernized entryway.
